LAMB OF GOD manager Larry Mazer has been interviewed by Czech web site Blesk.cz in regard to the detaining and possible manslaughter charges being laid against Lamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe.

Blythe is currently in custody after being arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by Czech police at the Prague airport on Wednesday, June 27th. It is alleged that during a May 24th, 2010 Lamb Of God concert, Blythe pushed a 19-year-old fan, who had climbed onstage, back into the audience. The fan lapsed into a coma and died of a bleeding in the brain fourteen days later.

Blythe was granted 4 million Czech Koruna bail (approximately $200,000) last week at a hearing in a Prague Court. While it was initially reported that Blythe would be freed on Monday, July 2nd, it now seems the frontman could remain in custody for another twenty days.

An excerpt from the interview follows:

Q: What is the latest on Randy Blythe’s release?

Larry Mazer: “I have no idea. The bail [in the amount of $200,000] was posted Tuesday morning [July 3]. We tried to make bail on Monday, but everything took a bit longer to be processed. Randy should be released immediately. His lawyer told us so on Saturday [during a court hearing]. In the US, he would have been. You post the bail and you’re free.”

Q: How long will Randy stay in jail?

Larry Mazer: “I was told that it may take up to 20 days — that the investigator may require more time to investigate the case.”

Q: How have the other band members reacted to this whole ordeal?

Larry Mazer: “Everybody is shocked. It’s absurd. It seems like a bad joke that Randy is sitting in your jail. He did nothing wrong. He is innocent.”
