METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett will attend the Chiller Expo at the Sheraton Parsippany in Parsippany, N.J.on Saturday, October 27th to promote his first published book, Too Much Horror Business: The Kirk Hammett Collection. The signing times will be announced soon. Go to this location for updates.

Documenting Hammett's love of all things horror, and the legendary collection of horror memorabilia he has amassed over the years, Too Much Horror Business is a stunning 228 page, hardback, large format coffee table book featuring well over 300 full color images from Kirk's private collection.

Aidin Vaziri from Sfgate.com spoke with METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett recently at his home in San Francisco's quiet Sea Cliff neighbourhood, about his horror collection (which he says is the second best in the world) and upcoming first book, Too Much Horror Business, which comes out in October.

"I've been into this stuff since I was 5 years old," he says, glancing around the room. "You could say I started as a collector back then. But at one point, when I was 14, I discovered music, and for a long time it took over my life. I've lived with this stuff for so long on an intimate one-on-one basis. It's going to be a leap for me once everyone knows what I have."

The book includes more than 300 images for which the guitar player wrote captions while he and the band toured the world. There is also a three-part Q&A; with Steffan Chirazi, editor of Metallica's fan club magazine So What, detailing the lengths that Hammett has gone to acquire some of his prize pieces. His San Francisco home (he has another residence in Sonoma, where the boys attend school) could double as a museum.

"My love for this stuff is insane and totally obsessive-compulsive," Hammett says. "It's just one of those things. I'm still waiting to outgrow it or get tired of it or get bored with it. But it does not seem to happen."

Too Much Horror Business is a stunning 228 page, hardback, large format coffee table book featuring well over 300 full color images from Kirk's private collection and exclusive set photography by Mark Leialoha and Joe Gibbs.
