Brazilian thrash legends SEPULTURA have issued a new studio blog via DP No Estúdio Com O Sepultura (DP in the studio with Sepultura). An excerpt from guitarist Andreas Kisser follows:

"I finished all the main guitar parts for all the songs and it feels great, again it was an amazing experience recording this album with Ross. Now I have only I few guitar solos to do and some extra guitar sounds here and there. Paulo is messing with his bass sounds since yesterday and today the actual recording has started. The sound is direct and so heavy, like all on this album is very alive and big, right now as I write this report he is going through his second song and I can feel the low end shaking the studio, awesome!

Ross also has been working on finding the best vocal performances from Derrick from all the takes he did and there’s a lot of good stuff to choose from. Still, he have three songs to do, including the two covers, actually the Chico Science version I will do the main vocal since my Portuguese is a little better than Derrick’s. Talking about him, he’s not here at the studio at the moment, due to some late changes on our recording schedule he couldn’t change some arrangements done prior to the changes so he had to leave for a week to do some shows with his side project Maximum Hedrum, he’ll be back in a few days to continue his performance on the album. It was something that was unfortunate but we couldn’t change, anyway we have plenty of stuff to do for the album and now the focus is the bass guitar."

Sepultura continue to record their new album with producer Ross Robinson (SLIPKNOT, LIMP BIZKIT) at his studio in Venice. Check out video of Robinson "looking for the perfect sound" below:

Vocalist Derrick Green recently recorded a video in which we can see a small demonstration of guitarist Andreas Kisser recording one of the songs for the new album.

It was recently confirmed that the new album will feature former SLAYER drummer, Dave Lombardo (PHILM).

The band's ongoing studio blog recently reported: "Derrick Green shared with us a video in which we can see a small demonstration of the historic jam between drummers Eloy Casagrande and Dave Lombardo, which will appear on the new Sepultura album. See them blow it up!"

The follow-up to 2011's Kairos - due in October via Nuclear Blast Records - is being co-produced by Steve Evetts, who has worked with Sepultura on 2001's Nation, 2002's Revolusongs and 2003's Roorback. The album is set to feature nine songs (titles include 'The Age Of The Atheist', 'Tsunami' and The Vatican') and two bonus tracks (the previously announced covers of DEATH and Brazilian group CHICO SCIENCE E NAÇÃO ZUMBI).
