As reported earlier this week, MOTÖRHEAD have canceled the remaining dates on their summer 2013 European tour, after doctors recommended frontman Lemmy be given more time to recover from a hematoma he reportedly suffered last month.

An update from the band's site reads: "Regretfully, Motörhead announces it has had to cancel its remaining six summer festival appearances. The band hate to let their fans down by missing any shows, but they expect to be back in full force this fall. As you may have heard, earlier this spring Lemmy had some medical maintenance for the long-term good, he was, at that time, advised to rest, but once feeling better, he of course resumed his life as usual. He has since been advised that he should immediately take some more time to rest."

Lemmy states: "I'd like to thank everyone who wish me well, it was a tough decision for me as I don't like to disappoint the fans especially in times where economy is bad and people spent their money to see us. But sometimes you can't do anything else than following doctor's orders, but be sure we will be back and will kick everybody's ass."

The Motörhead camp continue: "There you have it! You can now stop worrying, redirect those cards, flowers and chocolates to a loved one (who will appreciate them far more), keep calm and carry on! Lemmy and Motörhead certainly are! Thanks and see you in the fall for their new album in the form of a massive Aftershock."

As previously reported, Aftershock was recorded at California's Maple Sound Studios (Santa Ana), produced by Cameron Webb. The album will include 13 tracks, titles including 'Dust And Glass', 'Knife', 'Going To Mexico', 'Lost Woman Blues', 'Death Machine' and 'Heartbreaker'.

Complete album details coming soon.

Motörhead recently confirmed that their annual run of UK dates will, as always, be taking place this November and this time they’re bringing the mighty SAXON with them.

Motörhead - Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee - have released over 20 studio albums over their 38 year career. Their MO is simple, ‘WE ARE MOTÖRHEAD… AND WE PLAY ROCK N ROLL’. Known for being one of the most hard working bands in rock n roll, they have well and truly cemented their iconic status in the annals of rock legend, their yearly exodus across the UK, being no different. A must see for any self respecting fan, young or old.

This year, they will be bringing the heavy metal monster that is Saxon with them as very special guests. Having been one of the front runners for the New Wave OF British Heavy Metal in the 80s, the band went on to sell over 15 million record worldwide and have had 8 UK top 40 albums. German rockers, SKEW SISKEN will once again be taking to the road as support, having opened for Motörhead on their 2010 UK tour.
