OZZY OSBOURNE - Campaign For Knighthood Gathers Pace

Over 4,000 people have signed-up to an unlikely campaign to bestow a knighthood on BLACK SABBATH singer OZZY OSBOURNE. The online petition is close to the 5,000 signature target set by 45-year-old heavy metal devotee Helen Maidiotis.
Her facebook site, The Knighthood Of Ozz, has been backed by Ozzy’s daughter Kelly who tweeted, “this really needs to happen” and the rock legend’s former guitarist, Bernie Torme.
Helen wanted a gong for every Sabbath member, but singled-out Ozzy after being told it was unlikely all of the band would receive a knighthood. The original lineup also boasted Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.
Helen said: Our campaign has reached Buckingham Palace, as a friend of mine had sent off letters explaining about our battle for Ozzy’s knighthood - and they have replied positively. As Black Sabbath are set to perform at Hyde Park, London, on July 4, It would be a fitting tribute to Ozzy if we were to reach our target in the days following their performance.”
