Nightwish mainman Tuomas Holopainen has updated his diary about the progress of the new Nightwish album. A part of the posting reads “We now have a total of 12 songs to work with; we should have the ready album in our hands by the end of January 2015.” To read his entire posting visit this location.

A video for the Finnish Live Aid 2017 song entitled "Lohtu", written by Nightwish keyboardist/founder Tuomas Holopainen, has been released. Check it out below:

The aimon the Live Aid 2017 project is to collect 3 million euros for the construction of a new pediatric hospital in Helsinki. The project will culminate in a huge Live Aid ULS2017 concert in June 2015. The song 'Lohtu' will be performed by a group of today´s most popular Finnish artists.

Holopainen's debut solo record, The Life And Times Of Scrooge, has entered the international charts. In his native Finland, the NIGHTWISH keyboard player and mastermind even took the Top-Ten by storm charting on #1

"It's been stated pretty clearly from the start that this is a marginal solo album that has nothing to do with metal or Nightwish," Holopainen told BraveWords recently. "It hasn't been that big of a surprise to people. The biggest surprise seems to be why I'm being so childish (laughs). Of course, that can be expected if you choose to do and album based on a children's comic book. It's just ignorance though, because people don't know what they're talking about."
