The Torch from Gothenburg, Sweden has signed a one year promotion and distribution contract with Rambo Music. The band's self-titled album will be released by Studiofonic with a tentative release set for early November.

The Torch formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, in May 2012 under the name Smash Atoms. Started by musicians from local bands Hide The Knives, Hostile Cell and Debbie Ray, the band had one vision: to play whatever they wanted to play, without compromise.

After switching drummers, replacing lead singer Glen Gilbert in the middle of recording their debut album, and changing their name, things are finally moving forward for The Torch.

Former guitarist Martin Söderqvist (ex Hostile Cell, Debbie Ray) has taken over vocal duties, and the band has recruited Andreas Heleander from Debbie Ray as their new lead guitarist.

The debut album was recorded at Studiofonic in Gothenburg, produced by bassist Per Romvall with assistance of Sebastian Olsson and will be mastered by Dragan Tanaskovic at Bohussound studios.

Lineup:

Martin Söderqvist, lead vocals (ex-Hostile Cell, Debbie Ray)

Andreas Heleander, guitars (ex-Plan 9, Debbie Ray)

Ola Lindström, drums (ex-Hide the Knives, ex-Sound Of A Revolution)

Per Romvall, bass (ex-Hostile Cell)
