AC/DC Drummer PHIL RUDD To Release Head Job Solo Album In August

According to Triplem.com.au, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd's new solo album, Head Job, will be out on August 29. The first single called "Repo Man" is scheduled to premiere this Friday on Triple M Sydney (104.9 FM). Rudd tells Triple M: "It's a great album from start to finish. There's no filler."

AC/DC recently completed work on their 15th studio album, and follow-up to 2008's Black Ice, at Vancouver's The Warehouse Studio which is owned by Bryan Adams. "We’re done," singer Brian Johnson told TeamRock.com recently. "I’m very excited and we’ve got some great songs.” He adds: “We miss Malcolm (Young) obviously. He’s a fighter. He’s in hospital but he’s a fighter. We’ve got our fingers crossed that he’ll get strong again. Stevie, Malcolm’s nephew, was magnificent, but when you’re recording with this thing hanging over you and your work mate isn’t well, it’s difficult. But I’m sure he was rooting for us. He’s such a strong man. He’s a small guy but he’s very strong. He’s proud and he’s very private so we can’t say too much. But fingers crossed he’ll be back.”

In regards to a title for the new material, Johnson revealed: “I wanted to call the album Man Down. But it’s a bit negative and it was probably just straight from the heart. I like that.” About the album, drummer Phil Rudd added: "I'm very happy to have it all done and it's very good by the way."
