As previously reported, E-FORCE - featuring ex-VOIVOD frontman Eric Forrest - are currently working on a new album. Forrest contacted BW&BK; yesterday (November 21st) with the following update:

"Well, we have been just doing the tracks on the week end which has been really cool. Giving everyone a little break between the sessions, which is good to clear the ears and brain for a solid performance. Rhythm guitars/guitar solos/bass/bass solos have been completed as well as some acoustic additions, plus five songs on vocals.

Honestly, besides Paul Gilbert and Zakk Wylde (ok, ok, Yngwie also) I have never heard any other 19 year old guitar player play so proficiently and accurately as Cyril Bernhard. What is amazing is this young lad's modest, humble, intelligent attitude towards music and life in general. He reminds me a bit of (Voivod drummer) Away, as most (but not all) guitar players I have worked within the past have had huge egos, etc. Not the case here...

Finishing the vocals later this week then its time for Boris to bash out some killer beats. With his Cavalera / Portnoy / Bozzio influences it should be interesting to hear the final takes. Patrick Friedrich will then begin the mixing in early December."

Keep ya posted,

Eric

E-Force recently signed a three album deal with Thundering Records. AGRESSOR vocalist/guitarist Alex Colin-Tocquaine is co-writing a track for the new album, as are Tim and Kevin Guttierez of PROJECT: FAILING FLESH. Finally, Forrest has decided to re-record/cover a song from the unreleased 2001 Voivod demo as a tribute to late guitarist Piggy, who passed away in August, 2005 due to cancer.

The new E-Force lineup consists of Forrest, 19-year old guitarist Cyril Berhhard and drummer Boris Lugan.
