Glenn Guests On KEN HENSLEY's New Album...

Some great news from former URIAH HEEP Ken Hensley's website:

An update on the studio recordings by Ken Hensley:

"Hola....

I just enjoyed an incredible day in the studio with Glenn Hughes who is singing (in his own amazing way) two songs on the new CD, Blood On The Highway. I am really lucky to have so many great vocal performances on this record and I am especially thankful to Glenn who came to Alicante directly from his recently completed European tour!! It's always cool to spend time with a fellow "road-warrior" and we made time to share some stories and to chat about doing some things together in the coming year. I'll keep you posted on all of that but, in the meantime we have to prepare for more guest singers over the next few weeks!"

Update From JEFF KOLLMAN...

Glenn's newest touring guitarist, Jeff Kollman, will be making some live appearances this month and next, so if you're going to be in the Los Angeles area, be sure and check him out.

JJ MARSH Checks In...

As avid supporters of JJ, as we know a lot of you are, he recently gave us an update as to what he has been doing the last couple of months.

"Hello!

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but things have been a bit hectic here and I've not had a chance to keep you posted.

First of all, THANK YOU for all your good wishes - it's been great to receive your emails and I have been inspired by your wonderful warm messages and good wishes. I thank you all, very sincerely. We have been busy here during the last few weeks, writing and rehearsing new songs for the next solo album. We'll put some soundclips online in the new year, be warned! Also, I met up with Chad recently when The Chilis played in Stockholm. More news soon, I promise, but till then have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and thank you for all your fantastic messages during the year. I love you!"

HUGHES/THRALL Remaster...

Where is it? Well, we heard from Rock Candy Records out of the UK and they've had some delays, but promise it'll be out in January or at the very latest, February 2007!!

It's going to be well worth the wait so we're told, so let's just hope they keep to their word this time!

STORMBRINGER Remaster Update...

While in the UK in October, Glenn visited Abbey Road Studios to work on the classic DEEP PURPLE MK.III release, Stormbringer.

The latest we have from Simon Robinson who is putting this all together is that they have got 5 remixes (total time 22.29), which are 'Holy Man', 'You Can't Do It Right', 'Love Don't Mean A Thing', 'Hold On' and 'Soldier Of Fortune', plus the remastered album (37.05), for a total of 59.34 minutes. They might also add 'Highball Shooter' instrumental (4.30) and also a quad mix of 'Soldier Of Fortune' (3.14). In addition, they're looking for one or two of the US mono single edits to round things out.

All sounds good to us - really looking forward to this one, more so than Burn from a couple of years ago.

We really hoped to round out 2006 with all this positive news, but yesterday morning we heard from Glenn and Gabi that they were burgled the other day. Over $100,000 worth of personal items, in addition to priceless musical memorabilia and instruments were stolen from their home.

"Hi everyone,

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you this holiday season....

I took Gab to her office as I was picking her up at 5.00 to go to Chad and Nancy's Xmas party. When I pulled in my drive, the pool Man was leaving, so, I go in the house and the dogs' were goin' crazy. Then I noticed the debris and saw drawers and clothes even the ashes of Lamont, Simka and Pookie had been thown on the floor out of their little caskets. I found Hughy and Princess hiding under one of the couches.

I started to feel sick to my stomach. How could they have got into my fortress? There is a wall and high fence around my property, you can't enter from the road, there is an outer gate that has to be security opened, and then you have to walk thru a courtyard. They got in thru a side door, and left by the patio overlooking the pool, that would be the patio in the mastersuite...they took a lot of extremely valuable jewellry belonging to Gab and myself, around $100,000 worth.

We are both fine, but feel terribly violated. The police team that took our case were very kind and cordial, let's wait and see what happens, these were very personal items that my wife and I had given to each other on birthday's and Xmas.

Like I have said before, there are no mistakes in Gods world, but I can tell you this. In the morning, I have enough security people and surveilance to make our home Fort Knox West.... we are all ok.

Merry Xmas 2 you all and love one another.....

Glenn"

We're pleased that both Glenn and Gabi weren't at home at the time, and that they're both OK. They have a lot of support, so they'll get through this awful episode. It hurts even more what with it being Christmas time.

So, that's it for 2006 - if we do happen to get any late breaking news before the year is over, we'll be sure and get it out to you.

Happy Holidays and a very enjoyable New Year.

Cheers,

David & Shirean Harrison."
