news life in black rotting christ

Vocalist/guitarist Sakis from Greek black metal legends ROTTING CHRIST recently spoke to Metalhead.ro about their new album Theogonia and the upcoming tour. A few excerpts from the chat found here follow:

Metalhead.ro: What is really new, speaking strictly about the sound, on this album?

Sakis: "Yes this is a soul-dedicated album - a 100% Rotting Christ product with its influences from the ancient Greek history making the album maybe more unique than ever. And yes, it is also our most aggressive outcome since our beginning."

Metalhead.ro: You were the one entirely in charge of the production, the mixing and mastering. Would you recommend other bands to take care of their music production entirely by themselves?

Sakis: "I can proudly announce that Theogonia is a 100% Rotting Christ product as I did exclusively the composing process, the productions, the mixing and the mastering by myself. Having worked with too many producers all those years and having studying sound engineer, I think that I have reached the level of doing the job by myself a job that ONLY I can worry about and not a producer or a manager. On the other hand, I can not recommend someone that is not experienced to do everything by himself as there are more experienced persons on that but if there is not enough money or budget of course and YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF."

Metalhead.ro: There were some rumors lately that you are going to release also a DVD early this year on which two entire European gigs should be included. Is there any truth to this?"

Sakis: "Actually the new album Theogonia will be out with an extra DVD with the best parts of last year's Sanctus Diavolos tour as well as the making of the album. An official DVD will be shot later this year in Athens that will include as many extras as possible from our more than 16 years in the scene."

Theogonia is due out on January 22nd in Europe and February 2nd in North America via Season Of Mist. The album is currently out in Greece.
