Scarlet Records has issued the following update:

Is now official that SCHIZO, one of Europe’s long-standing extreme metal forces, prime-movers of the whole Italian scene along NECRODEATH and BULLDOZER, are now part of Scarlet Record’s roster.

It was 1989 when their cult masterpiece Main Frame Collapse was released and 2007 will see Schizo coming back with a new back-breaking, psychotic and heavy-than-ever metal massacre.

Cicatriz Black will be the title of the new album, out in March on Scarlet. Production duties were held by Schizo themselves, mastering by renowed Peter In De Betou (MARDUK, MESHUGGAH, BOKOR). Cover artwork was made by Italian artist Lorenzo Mariani (MAYHEM, DARKTHRONE, Marduk,1349, ABORYM). Guest appearance include Steve Sylvester (DEATH SS), AC Wild (Bulldozer) and Flegias (Necrodeath).

Here’s what mastermind Alberto Penzin has to say about his band’s long-waited reunion: “Thrash metal is attitude, not just a pose. And we incarnate thrash’s most extreme and psychotic spirit. With guitarist S.B. Reder back in action, 15 years after, the magic is still there. Schizo are back. And this time they’re here to stay. But don’t expect the usual copy/paste from the old years… We’re able to look at the future with a different mentality, keeping in mind that sonic violence is still Schizo’s real trademark. This album is for those who never stopped to believe. Ourselves first. Psycho thrash is back!”
