NAMM 2007 Meet'n'Greet...

For those attending NAMM this year in Anaheim, California... Glenn will be at the NAMM 2007 trade show this Friday, February 19th and will be at the Manne Guitars booth. He will conduct a "Meet'n'Greet" from their booth which is number 1630 in Hall E at 3 PM.

Friday's events start at 10 AM and finish at 6 PM.

Music For The Divine Released January 30th In USA...

Music For The Divine will be released in the USA on Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 via Demolition Records (http://www.myspace.com/demolitionrecordsus). You can now also pre-order the CD from Amazon.com.

Glenn Live On Rockline Radio...

Glenn will be the featured artist on Rockline on Wednesday, February 7th and will be taking fans' calls in between the interview segments and songs played from Music For The Divine.

It starts at 8:30 PM (PST) and Glenn will be on for the entire evening's broadcast - 8:30 PM (PST) - 10 PM (PST).

Rockline is one of the premiere USA based syndicated shows hosted by legendary radio personality, Bob Coburn. The call-in number is 1-800-344-ROCK (1-800-344-7625).

Video - The Making Of...'This House'

Glenn has made available via his MySpace.com page a video about the making of the song, 'This House', from the latest album, Music For The Divine. The song will have it's own full video release as part of the USA CD available on January 30th.

In the "Making Of..." you see parts of the 'This House' video interspersed with Glenn and Chad, while in London last summer, when they visited Olympic Studios and were captured on film, talking about the new album and this song in particular!

Hughes/Thrall - When Deep Purple finally collapsed in mid 1976 'neath a blanket of fatigue and insurrection all bets were off as to which members would fly phoenix like from the wreckage. Loaded with talent, Purple was a breeding ground for a significant amount of lofty and successful spin off projects including Whitesnake, Rainbow and Gillan but it wasn't until 1982, following a couple of low key solo projects, that bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes resurfaced with a unit that would quite rightly stop the rock world in its tracks.

Teaming up with highly respected guitarist Pat Thrall (previously a member of AUTOMATIC MAN and the PAT TRAVERS BAND) the duo formed Hughes/Thrall, a collaboration that not only promised much on paper but would eventually deliver one of, if not the best, post Deep Purple records in that particular cannon of excellence.

Meticulously produced by seasoned studio hand Andy Johns (FREE, LED ZEPPELIN, VAN HALEN) the record received an overwhelmingly enthusiastic reception from old and new fans alike. Basking in clear cut melodies, razor sharp guitar chops, edgy production were some of the best songs this side of a JOURNEY or FOREIGNER album.

Classics In Rock & Shepherds Bush Empire...

Glenn is now confirmed to play at the Classics in Rock event which will held in Rotterdam, Holland on Friday, March 23rd, 2007. Joining Glenn will be Anders Olinder and Jeff Kollman. Other artists to appear at this special classic rock evening are John Waite, Graham Bonnett, Neil Murray and many more (http://www.classicsinrock.nl).

After his appearance in Holland, Glenn, Anders and Jeff will travel to London where they'll rock the Shepherds Bush Empire on Sunday, March 25th, accompanied by Mark Mondesir on drums. This is the rescheduled show from last October (http://www.shepherds-bush-empire.co.uk).

Bulgaria And Serbia In May...

On May 6th 2007, Glenn has been invited back by his good friend, Tsonko Tsonev, the Mayor of Kavarna, to again play in Kavarna, Bulgaria, where he played last August.

This will be a very special event, as Mr Tsonev is making Glenn an honorary citizen of Kavarna. At 12 Noon, Glenn will cut a ribbon in front of a building at the Central City Square which has had a specially commissioned portrait of Glenn painted onto it (other buildings in Kavarna have portraits of Ian Gillan and Ronnie James Dio on them).

Glenn will then be presented with the Honourable Sign of Kavarna, making him an honorary citizen of Kavarna. After the ceremony, Glenn will then perform with his band.

Glenn is very proud and honoured to receive this from Mr Tsonev, and he is delighted to be going back to the beautiful country and people of Bulgaria.

Glenn will also play a show on May 9th in Tzaribrod, Serbia, which is about 150 km from Sofia. Again, this will be a unique event because Glenn has been invited there by the Mayor of Tzaribrod, a friend of Mr Tsonev, to be the first major international artist to perform in the city.

The concert will take place in a new hall in the city, and Glenn's show - as it will be the first concert at the new hall - will act as an inauguration for the hall. As the hall is so new, they do not have a name for it as yet, so Mr Tsonev has suggested that it be called the 'Glenn Hughes Music Hall'!

We'll have to wait and see what the outcome is, so more news on that as it happens!

Freedom For Bulgarian Nurses In Libya...

Also, Mr Tsonev in Kavarna is doing his best to create awareness for the plight of the Bulgarian nurses still held captive in Libya since 1999. At the recent Dio show in Kavarna, Ronnie wore a ribbon to show his support, and Mr Tsonev is asking other bands that he has promoted and brought to Bulgaria, to do like-wise.

A message from Glenn's manager regarding the recent release of some of Glenn's work on Apple's iTunes Store:

"The Glenn Hughes CDs recently made available on Apple's iTunes Store were not done with the prior approval of Glenn and his manager, so they will be temporarily taken down and will be unavailable for the time being.

We are working on getting all Glenn's solo back catalogue available through iTunes and other digital sources very soon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding."

The titles effected included Freak Flag Flyin', Soulfully Live In The City Of Angels and Songs In The Key Of Rock. Others will continue to be for sale.

JJ MARSH - Quick Update...

We heard briefly from JJ the other day.

He's currently in the middle of recording with Tomas Bodin for Tomas' new solo album due later in the year, in addition to the on-going rehearsals with PLANET MARSH for their follow-up album.

He's promised to keep us in the loop, so no doubt more news on those fronts soon.
