hot flashes news oceans of sadness

Belgian metallers OCEANS OF SADNESS have issued the following update via their MySpace page:

"Great news!!!

The band inked a deal with the cool italian label Scarlet Records this weekend for the release of the upcoming album Mirror Palace!"

Oceans Of Sadness formed in 1995 and drew inspiration from bands such as TYPE O NEGATIVE, AMORPHIS and PARADISE LOST. In 2001 the band signed a two album deal with Belgian LSP Records resulting in For We Are (2001) and Laughing Tears, Crying Smile (2002). In support of their second album the band opened up for WITHIN TEMPTATION and DIMMU BORGIR.

Over the years Oceans Of Sadness has found a larger audience by performing at festivals such as Dynamo Open Air and the Biebob Metalfest as well as numerous shows at Graspop Metal Meeting.

In 2004 their third album Send In The Clowns was released on a one album deal by Apache Productions. Clearly influenced by acts such as SYSTEM OF A DOWN, ALICE IN CHAINS and CRADLE OF FILTH, the band also draws inspiration from a world non-metal.

Mirror Palace is a shining example that metal is still progressing and can be fused with classical music, jazz or even good ol' ragtime.

The new album is expected to be released via Scarlet in April. For more on the band check out their website at www.oceansofsadness.com .
