Chicago's high-energy rock ensemble TUB RING, who will release their The End Records debut, The Great Filter, on May 1st, 2007, are heading out on tour this week.

Bassist Trevor Erb gives an update on the upcoming live dates:

"Hello everyone, Trevor here checking in to give everyone quick update regarding all things Tub Ring.

First off, after a short break from recording the new album and in preparation for our these fast approaching March dates, we've all reconvened within the same four walls of cinderblocks and foam padding for some intense rehearsal sessions. From the looks of it, everyone is ready to get back out and commence with the jumping, kicking, screaming, and music playing that you've all come to love or loathe. I almost forgot to mention we'll be playing a handful of new songs at these upcoming shows, and a few of them are going to demand your best spinkicks and breakdown dances, so be prepared to bro-down or hand in your scene card.

It seems like it was just a year ago that we were headed down to SXSW for a couple of days of warm weather and Texas hospitality, and I guess that's because it was a year ago. Well in the spirit of things we'll be capping off this short March stint with a SXSW showcase for The End Records, and I have it on good authority that Giant Squid will be sharing the stage with us. I know they're no Colossal Squid, but what can you do?

Finally, following our quick trip in March and a few scattered dates, we're happy to announce that April 27th is not only our CD release show for "The Great Filter" but is the beginning of a two month trek across the U.S. and Canada with our sisters in Foxy Shazam, and our buddy The Show is the Rainbow. Not all of the dates have surfaced yet, so don't flip out and start saying "YOU'RE NOT COMING TO OUR TOWN? WTF?"

You'd all do well to keep your eyes glued to the internet for shows as they come in.

It's going to be a busy year, and we're looking forward to seeing all of you.
