Germany's melodic power metallers MYSTIC PROPHECY have been forced to cancel their Chicago Powerfest 2007 appearance. A statement from the band reads as follows:

"Because of passport and visa-issues unfortunately we had to cancel shortly our concert at the Chicago Powerfest. These affairs could not be solved within the very short time which has been left for us. We have really tried everything but we could not violate or ignore the existing laws. Therefore we are very disappointed to miss this show. We all hope to perform this festival next year."

Chicago Powerfest 2007 will take place on Friday, April 20th and Saturday, April 21st at The Pearl Room in Mokena, IL. Current Powerfest lineup includes: SOLITUDE AETURNUS, MARTYR, SATURNUS, NOVEMBERS DOOM, BENEDICTUM, SHATTER MESSIAH, THURISAZ, SUSPYRE.

The final band to complete the lineup, which is also targeted to fill the headlining slot on the Saturday night of the fest, will be announced very soon. Ticket information, including both single day and discounted two day passes, will be released immediately following the completion of the lineup.
