The Montreal-based deathcore six-piece DESPISED ICON will spend the summer touring North America with THE RED CHORD, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD, ALL SHALL PERISH and SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY. With an unrelenting lineup from top to bottom, this fan-friendly, affordably-priced tour is sure to be the perfect alternative to the oversaturated festival events. Alex Erian (vocals) states: “I’ve probably been one of The Red Chord’s biggest Canadian fans since Guy handed me the band’s demo tape in 2001. Finally, we get a chance to tour with them and our bros in Through the Eyes of the Dead and All Shall Perish. We’ve never been this stoked about a tour. Our new album comes out a week before the tour starts, so make sure you pick it up at one of our shows if you don’t already own it by then. We look forward to seeing you all soon.”

Despised Icon are currently on their first European tour with UNEARTH, JOB FOR A COWBOY and DAATH. The group recently wrapped up a sold-out Canadian/US run with JOB FOR A COWBOY, which also marked the first appearance of their new guitarist Al Glassman (GORATORY, ex-BURN IN SILENCE). Their new album, The Ills Of Modern Man, is set for a May 22nd release. The disc was recorded with acclaimed producer/former guitarist Yannick St-Amand (BENEATH THE MASSACRE, ION DISSONANCE, NEURAXIS) and mixed by the renowned Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, MEGADETH).

A new track, 'In The Arms of Perdition', is currently on the band’s MySpace page (www.myspace.com/despisedicon). A new video for the track was shot by Jean-Philippe Bernier. This clip is a stunning, performance-based offering that emphasizes the band’s frantic live intensity. Look for it to make its debut online early next month.
