SOILWORK frontman Bjorn "Speed" Strid has issued the following update from Vancouver, Britisch Columbia, where he is currently working on vocals for the forthcoming Soilwork album:

"Hi everybody,

It's Speed. I'm reporting to you from the lovely town of Vancouver where I'm currently being held prisoner in Mr. Devin Townsend's dungeon. The vocal recording is going great! It feels really good teaming up once again with Devin, five years have passed since we worked together on the Natural Born Chaos album, can't believe it.

Well, he sure knows how to get the best out of my voice. He really knows what buttons to push to bring my personality to the forefront, even though he smells like ass and haven't showered since I arrived.

We're more than halfway through the album after eight days of work and I truly feel it's my best performance ever.

He definately knows how singers feel, being stuck in a vocal booth for two weeks screaming their lungs out, so he has provided me with an amp and a couple of guitars that I can jam with during breaks, awesome... I thank him for that..

We'll keep you updated the coming days..."

Peace out,

Speed
