EPHEL DUATH, the Italian Jazz-Prog metal 3 piece brought the sunshine at last weekend's Hellfest during what was elsewhere a weekend of heavy rain and mud at the festival in Clisson, France.

Hellfest organiser, Ben Barbaud, a self confessed fan of Ephel Duath was impressed with the new 3 piece set up as were the 5,000 strong French crowd.

Talking recently about old bassist Fabio's departure, guitarist Davide said: "We asked Fabio to leave the band before our May UK tour. We have reached the maximum of our artistic capacities with him and although we will always cherish the memories shared with him, but it is time for us to move on. We will not look for a substitute and will continue as a trio, for a sole experimental choice. We believe we will gain something out of this loss. Right now we are working hard on the new album, a concept called Through My Dog's Eyes and will be recorded beginning of next year. We'll announce the name of our kick-ass producer soon as well as the one of artist who will take care of the artwork. We are beyond excited at the idea of going back to the studio."

Ephel Duath release Pain Remixes The Known on July 23rd via Earache.
