The following report is courtesy of Matthew K. Roy from Salem News:

He left and became the lead singer of a famous rock band, but Brad Delp was more interested in hearing his friends' stories than telling his own when he came home to Danvers, MA.

"He never changed a bit," said Mike Hagan, who graduated from Danvers High School with Delp in 1969. "He was always a regular guy."

Hearing the song 'More Than A Feeling' by Delp's band BOSTON on the radio recently inspired Hagan to do something to honor his classmate, who died in March at age 55.

All it took was a few phone calls to rally enough support.

"It took off like you wouldn't believe," Hagan said.

Hagan and an organizing committee that grew to 20 members have planned a fundraiser this Friday (July 13th - 7PM) at the Danversport Yacht Club. The concert, which will feature performances by two of the original members of Boston, will raise money for a scholarship fund to benefit a Danvers High School senior who intends to study music in college.
