Six weeks ago Canada's Moshpit Tragedy Records announced it will give away one of its out-of-print releases for free download from their web site each week for eight weeks.

Moshpit Tragedy co-founder Rayny Forster comments: "Our first eight releases are now out of print and as both a thank you and as a kind of final push to get these releases into the hands of underground music fans, we're offering a high-quality download of one release per week in its entirety - absolutely free of charge. We invite those who missed out on the physical product to check out the bands and enjoy these free MP3s."

Week seven (August 12-18) gives us V/A '69 Minutes of Shit From 8 Assholes' which is a compilation of solo artists that was released as part of Moshpit Tragedy's "DIY Series" in early 2006. The 47 track album includes a variety of music ranging from rap to thrash, rock to experimental, from lounge to noise-grind, as brought to us by these generally lo-fi home-recording artists (in chronological order): Apnea, Boxpunch, Cpasm, Deadite, The Paranoid, Shitnthezocieties, Val Killmore and Xnemisisx.

Though many of these artists remain mostly anonymous, we can say that many of them performed in bands such as FaceDown (Canada), Woods of Ypres, The Posers, Survivors Will Be Shot Again, God in a Headlock, etc. - but the music represented here sounds nothing like any of those! It should be heavily noted that this album is by no means an easy pleasurable listen in a traditional sense but if you can get a kick out of hearing another persons home-style jams then by all means give this a try. The entire album complete with sleeve art is available in a zip file, or individually for those wanting to hear a sample first.

Though the promotion for these out-of-print releases is coming to an end, those who missed a free download from previous weeks will have one last chance at downloading each album - next week (August 19-25). All seven previously featured releases will be available together for one final week, so don't miss out!
