Swedish Viking metallers AMON AMARTH have issued the following update:

"It's been a busy summer for Amon Amarth. We've played a number of festivals in Europe and been part of the Sounds Of The Underground tour in North America.

A big thanks to GWAR, SHADOWS FALL, CHIMAIRA, EVERY TIME I DIE, JOB FOR A COWBOY, DARKEST HOUR (extra thanks for being our bus mates for 6 weeks), THE ACACIA STRAIN, GOATWHORE, THE NUMBER TWELVE LOOKS LIKE YOU, THIS IS HELL, 2 CENTS, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, HEAVY HEAVY LOW LOW and NECRO. The tour wouldn't have been so much fun without these bands. Thanks to the crew and sponsors for their hard work and support. Thanks to Metal Blade Records for their support. Ultimately, the biggest thanks goes out to our fans. Without your support, we would not be where we are now.

We played two shows in Mexico and we thank all the Mexican fans that came out to see us.

We recently played an outstanding show at Summer Breeze in Dinkelsbühl. Extra big thanks to the Jomvikings for their spectacular show and the excellent craftsmanship on the viking ship. For those of you who didn't hear, the Jomsvikings built our stage to resemble the front of a viking ship. We hope that we will be able to bring this show to other festivals in the upcoming summer. Thanks to our fans and everyone else at the festival.

At the moment, we are taking a break from touring. We'll be playing Italy next weekend and then spending more time with our friends and family in Sweden before heading out on tour with DIMMU BORGIR. We hope to see as many of you out there as possible. Until then, skål!"
