hot flashes news

Bernard Perusse from The Montréal Gazette spoke to JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford and former STYX singer Dennis DeYoung about their concerts of a lifeftime. An excerpt from the article found here follows:

Instant of impact: The heavy metal god and Judas Priest frontman was turned on to the magic of the stage by one of Britain's poppiest groups of the 60s.

"I snuck in to see DAVE DEE, DOZY, BEAKY, MICK AND TICH at a club in Wolverhampton called The Web. I think I was ... 15? I'd seen all TV people - the Beatles, the Stones, everybody on television. But to actually see a band live and hear a band live - that was just an experience. It was 'Oh, my God. Look at all these people. Look at the reaction. Look at the clothes. Look at the lights.' It was just an all-encompassing moment. I've never forgotten that."

Instant of impact: The former Styx frontman and guiding light was transformed by a live television appearance in 1964.

"It was the BEATLES on Ed Sullivan. It wasn't a live concert. At that moment, I thought I was there and it changed my life. I was in a wedding band. My friend Dave had Beatle boots and the album Meet the Beatles, and I thought it was absolute b.s. It was overhyped. He made me stay to watch them, because on Sunday nights, we went to the Catholic high school dance, which is where I met my wife. But this time, I sat down and watched them sing 'Close your eyes and I'll kiss you ...' That was it. 'With All My Loving', I looked at that and I went, 'Oh, my God! What is that? And how do I apply for that job?' That was it. There was never another doubt in my mind what I wanted in my life."
