Y&T Make Rare East Coast Appearance; BW&BK Photo Gallery, Report Available

The following report is courtesy of BW&BK; Senior US writer/photographer Mark Gromen:
Bay Area legends Y&T; performed for more than two hours at BB Kings, in New York City, NY on October 11th, playing their brand of blues laced hard rock to a seated crowd of bankers, lawyers and teachers who joined the few leather clad longhairs at the front of the stage. While the setlist reprised large portions of the just issued Locomotive DVD, there was a decidedly '80s MTV-era leaning missing from my previously European encounters with the band (opening with 'Contagious', 'Masters And Slaves', 'Don't Stop Runnin', 'Hard Times', 'Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark' and of course, 'Summertime Girls'). These came at the expense of some classic Yesterday And Today material, but we still got the likes of 'Hurricane', audience requested 'Hungry For Rock', 'Straight Through The Heart', 'Dirty Girl', 'Hurricane', 'Winds Of Change', 'Rescue Me' and the closing encore, 'Black Tiger'. An enetrtaining night from veterans who exude enjoyment in what they do. (Is it me, or does bassist Phil Kennemore, in crushed velvet jacket/vest, have a SNL alumni, Will Ferrell similarity?)
