Amanda Somerville - known in metal circles for her work with EPICA, AFTER FOREVER, EDGUY and AVANTASIA as a backing vocalist, vocal coach and collaborator - has issued the following update:

"So, have any of you heard the new single from Avantasia or seen the video for 'Lost In Space' on YouTube? Well, it's there! Yes, that's me singing on there with Tobi and also alone in the bridge (but the girl in the video isn't me, just to clarify!). And look at those German hotties busting their moves! I'd love to hear what you think, as long as you're saying it's phenomenal. Ha! Kidding, of course

So, yeah. I'm pretty stoked about Avantasia doing so well. 'Lost In Space' is 9 in the singles charts in Germany, 4 in Norway and 3 in Sweden. How cool is that? Plus, it'll be featured in the upcoming movie, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale starring Jason Statham (the guy from Snatch & Crank), Burt Reynolds, Ray Liotta, etc. Technically, I'm part of that soundtrack three times, because Epica's song 'Chasing The Dragon' and After Forever's 'Energize Me' are going to be featured as well, in both of which I took part too. Maybe I'm a dork, but I find that very cool!

I'm also happy to tell you that I am confirmed for the upcoming world tour with Avantasia! I'll be appearing on stage with Tobi, Sascha, Eric Singer, Bob Catley, Jorn Lande and a few other amazing people. Don't have any exact dates for you just yet, but I'll post them once I know for sure and also keep checking the Avantasia sites. Then, you simply MUST come see us! The shows will most definitely do some serious rocking.

More cool news in that ASRAI's new album, Pearls In Dirt, on which Sascha (Paeth) and I worked, has been released and is freaking awesome. If you don't have it yet, GO GET IT!!!! Check them out if you haven't already - their profile is in my top friends list. Really, I love this album and the Asrai gang is comprised of some wicked-cool Dutchies. I wish them tons of success. They deserve it!
