UK-based metal legends CLOVEN HOOF have issued the following update:

"The band would like to thank the incredible die hard fans by releasing a limited edition autographed advance copy of The Definitive Part One available exclusively on this web site from 13th February 2008. Russ, Jon, Lee and Ben want the most loyal fans to get the album first, ahead of the official 1st of May worldwide release date. The Definitive Part One will be distributed by Universal.

Cloven Hoof have attained an almost legendary status as one of the most influential bands to come out of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement. To celebrate the dynamic 2008 incarnation of the band, the hoof have re-recorded a collection of their most classic songs. Now at last for the first time, the live energy of Cloven Hoof has been captured in a recording studio with minimum overdubs and crisp production. The CD is aimed at old and a growing new generation of fans, eager to experience the majesty of a band that has paid it’s dues and is at the height of it’s powers. Selling over 30,000 albums worldwide, Cloven Hoof have drawn from a fine back catalogue of albums that have been regarded as later day metal masterpieces. Paul O’Neil produced The Definitive Part One, and Jon Astley who has worked with LED ZEPPELIN, THE WHO, JUDAS PRIEST, THE ROLLING STONES mastered it. Paul recorded all Cloven Hoof’s backing tracks live and caught the groups energetic performance in full flight. Too many so called metal bands have relied on pro tools to cheat in the studio, the result is a processed mechanical sterile sound. Cloven Hoof has gone back to it’s roots and delivered a classic tight but loose album, a live band playing real instruments in the studio which is a refreshing change in this day and age.
