Metal Blade Records has issued the following:

A new wave of x-treme bands are finding their way into the metal world! It’s not just now that Metal Blade Records has started to support young talent within the metal scene. Metal Blade has been involved in the breaking of

up-and-coming metal acts for 26 years now and is planning to step up these activities in 2008!

As Metal Blade’s 25th Anniversary celebrations in 2007 drew to a close, a new and innovative chapter started!

"The New X-treme - Support Your Scene"

As of now, new and exciting bands will get special promotion under the new X-treme banner. All these artists will be branded with the “New X-treme” logo. There will be special events, promotions, contests and much more!

As the main feature, each “New X-treme” title will be available for streaming in it's entirety from two days before until one week after its release!

The goal is to unite these young and highly talented groups and give the fans the chance to gain information about various bands, scenes and events, but mainly to discover new and exciting music!

First in line is extreme metal band BRAINDRILL with it's Metal Blade Records debut!

The campaign will be supported with stickers and promo goodies, which will be handed out by our street team and bands. Obviously all Metal Blade bands will support this campaign and be a part of it!

Further activities are already planned on the live front. As most of you already noticed, the idea was premiered with the Metal Blade 25th Anniversary Tour featuring THE BLACK DAHILA MURDER, JOB FOR A COWBOY and THE RED CHORD, who are all known for pioneering this new movement! The tour can be seen as a huge success and a sign of great things to come!
