TRIUMPH singer/guitarist Rik Emmett has issued the following update:

"Lots of stuff going on in March - prep for the Triumph induction into the Hall of Fame coming up April 6 (gonna need some new wardrobe for that, I reckon), the rehearsals for the potential T. gig in Sweden in June (still not 100% contractually locked in as of this writing), back into the studio to finish up Marco's Secret Songbook [maybe the secret is that it will never get finished!], and sometime in March is when Dave and I will resume studio activity on the TROUBADOURS follow-up. Yorkville Sound and Traynor amplifiers would like The Troubadours to shoot some promo video for them this month if possible, as we are endorsing their new line of amps - and this will give us an opportunity to work out publicly on our new Gibson electric guitars, as well. I've got a new deal up & running with Ernie Ball strings, too, which is great. The end of January and the gigs in February had to be some of the toughest touring I ever had to endure. I really did enjoy the gigs - I love to perform, after all, no matter the circumstances - but the weather seemed to threaten every single leg of every trip. No one is awaiting a warm spring more than yours truly."

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) recently announced that Triumph are this year's Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee. The original band members - completed by Mike Levine (bass/keyboards) and Gil Moore (vocals/drums) - will be honoured at The 2008 JUNO Awards in Calgary on Sunday, April 6th, broadcast on CTV from the Pengrowth Saddledome.
