Germany's Metal Hammer has issued an interview with HAIL OF BULLETS vocalist Martin Van Drunen (ASPHYX, PESTILENCE). The following is an excerpt:
Q: What made you listen to heavy metal in the first place?
A: KISS! As a kid, I saw them live on TV. I was massively impressed because of the show and the raw guitar sound."
Q: What does heavy metal mean to you in general: Lifestyle or music?
A: "It’s definitely a lifestyle because of the music. When you go to work and they have awful Schlager Music on the radio all day, or shitty Top 50 crap, you go berserk after a while and smash the damn thing with an axe. It’s not easy to keep a job that way, haha.
You can’t even work properly without a daily dose of fuckin’ metal.
Hence, it means basically everything. You cannot even function normally without it..."
Q: What was the biggest mistake you ever made in you career?
A: "Signing some special deal back in the days of Pestilence. Those thieving cunts. Where is my fucking money, you bastards!!!"
