According to the Associated Press, The Museum at Bethel Woods is opening June 2 at the site of the 1969 Woodstock concert, located about 90 minutes north of New York City, and will offer exhibits, personal stories, multimedia experiences and programs about the music, fashion and political protests of the 1960s.

The original three-day festival, pictured, epitomized the era's counterculture and drew hundreds of thousands to hear JIMI HENDRIX, THE WHO, JANIS JOPLIN, JONI MITCHELL and many other performers.

The museum is part of the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, an outdoor performing arts complex. For more information or for tickets to the museum or shows, visit here or call Ticketmaster at 845-454-3388.
