DESTRUCTION have revealed the artwork (on the left) for their new album D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N., which will be released on August 22nd via AFM. It will be available in three different formats: standard CD, digipak and two-LP.

Destruction mainman Schmier spoke to BW&BK; recently about D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.:

“It’s different," Schmier begins. "It’s definitely moved on since the last album. We’ve been trying to work more with classical harmonies this time and taking the band in a direction that reminds me of our first song writing experiences. We won’t be the most brutal band anymore, but we can still create some good thrash that’s unique and still has our own style. There’s definitely more harmonies this time. They can destroy a song sometimes, and the name Destruction comes from the idea of musical destruction, but we still want to go further. So we’ve put the best elements of the last 25 years together; that’s aggression, tightness, catchy vocal stuff and a lot of shredding leads. The production is up to date but it’s not like the last one. It has more space and the whole band is breathing. It’s more rock ‘n’ roll for some reason. It’s difficult to describe. It’s a natural evolution. It’s Destruction and it’ll always sound like Destruction. We don’t have to be the fastest band in the world anymore. This album definitely marks some special steps for us and our future. It’s a lot more groovy. It’s more straightforward in some ways and more technical in others.”

D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. tracklisting: 'Devolution', 'Elevator To Hell', 'Vicious Circle - The 7 Seven Deadly Sins', 'Offenders Of The Throne', 'Last Desperate Scream', 'Urge (The Greed Of Gain)', 'The Violation Of Morality', 'Inner Indulgence', 'Odyssey Of Frustration', 'No One Shall Survive'.
