SLIPKNOT's new album, All Hope Is Gone, has entered the official Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) chart at position No. 1.

The band has a chance to debut at No. 1 on next week's Billboard album chart, but will face competition from rapper THE GAME, according to Hits Daily Double. All Hope Is Gone is reportedly on target to sell between 230,000 and 250,000 copies in the U.S. in its first week of release, with The Game's new one, LAX, predicted to possibly do just as well. Slipknot's last effort, 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), moved 243,000 copies upon its release to enter the chart at No. 2.

Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan told The Pulse of Radio he's much more concerned with making music than how it's marketed or how much it sells. "I'm not gonna end up being a cliché rock and roll band on VH1 or something," he said. "I can't do it. It's hurt too much to do all of this for as long as we've done. You know, it's more than just a band, it's more than just a band that makes a lot of people money and gets things going. All the crap is out of my mind these days. It's back to the art."
