According to Paul Cashmere from Undercover.com.au, AC/DC has six albums in the Australian Top 50 this week, including one in the top 20 with collective sales that out sold the number one album this week.

With the news of a new album on the way, (Black Ice is the first for the band in eight years), Australian fans have been doing a cram sessions of the old albums.

The six albums sold 10,871 units. Compare that to the number one album by Slipknot that sold 7500 units this week.

AC/DC positions in this weeks chart are:

20. TNT (1975)

26. The Razors Edge (1990)

27. Highway To Hell (1979)

28. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (1976)

30. Who Made Who (1986)

45. Stiff Upper Lip (2000)

TNT is not surprising. While it was the band’s second album it Australia, it contained the signature songs ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Want To Rock and Roll’ and ‘High Voltage’.

The Razors Edge had just one hit, but what a hit it was. This 1990 album contained ‘Thunderstruck’.

Highway To Hell was Bon Scott’s final album. The title track is another AC/DC classic.

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was the follow-up to TNT. The title track and ‘Jailbreak’ make this one of the essential Acca Dacca albums.

Who Made Who was a strange one. Sure the title track merges everything you love about Brian’s vocal and Angus’ guitar, but it was a Frankenstein of a release. Only three tracks were new. The album was the soundtrack to Stephen King’s Maximum Overdrive movie.

Stiff Upper Lip was their last album eight years ago. Again, the title track has earned its place as an Acca Dacca classic. The album had its moments, but is not considered one of their greatest works.

But wait, there’s more. When we flip over to the DVD chart, AC/DC has the number 1 and 2 spots with No Bull and Stuff Upper Lip Live. As well as Plug Me In at 28.

The new album Black Ice will be released on October 18 in Australia and October 20 worldwide.
