CTV.ca has issued the following report on the long awaited, and some would say over-hyped, GUNS N' ROSES album Chinese Democracy:

Check the temperatures in hell, and crack open the Dr. Pepper -- Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" will be hitting Canadian stores this November 23.

The album, which has been in production since the middle of the Clinton Administration, will be the American hard rock band's first original album since releasing two albums simultaneously in 1991.

On Wednesday (October 22nd), the blistering title track of the new album was released as a single to radio, where it quickly garnered massive airplay and much discussion on music websites.

"The release of Chinese Democracy marks a historic moment in rock 'n' roll," Irving Azoff and Andy Gould, Guns N' Roses' co-managers said in a news release. "We're launching with a monumental campaign that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself. Guns N' Roses fans have every reason to celebrate, for this is only the beginning."

Notoriously volatile lead singer Axl Rose is the lone holdover from the band's debut album and serves as the "Chinese Democracy" producer , along with Caram Costanzo (Pearl Jam's "No Code", Rage Against the Machine's "Evil Empire.") The album will feature 14 tracks.

Despite the legendary wait and impossible to meet expectations of a tortured fan base, the album is being treated as a potential economic savior for the in-transition music industry.

"We're expecting it to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, albums of the year," HMV Canada president Humphrey Kadaner told CTV.ca Wednesday.
