AMARANTHE Vocalist Elize Ryd - "There Are Just Too Many Bands That Don't Really Entertain"
November 28, 2014, 9 years ago
Amaranthe vocalist Elize Ryd recently spoke with UK-based Kerrang! about the band's new album, Massive Addictive. An excerpt from the interview is available below:
Q: You’re bringing your live show over to our shores in March. How would you describe an Amaranthe gig to someone who’s never seen you?
Elize: “Dancing! Just kidding. There’s lots of action, but we just want to spread love and positive energy. For me personally, since I’m from the musical scene, it’s all about entertaining. I think there are just too many bands that don’t really entertain. They spread some kind of destructive energy – it’s all like, ‘Death, urrrrgh! Depression!’. Sure, we all have that, and we all have our ways to handle those emotions, but I just felt personally that there’s too few bands that focus on positive energy. That’s why I chose to be in Amaranthe and do what I do.”
