ANNIHILATOR Frontman JEFF WATERS Digs Into The Archives Again - "I Thought I Was A More Metaller Version Of NIKKI SIXX"

Annihilator frontman / founder Jeff Waters has unearthed another photo from the band's early days and posted it online:
"Early 1987 in a cold, empty room at my friends' Moms' house! A can of Coke, a Carling O'Keefe beer, my old Sanyo boombox! I wrote most of the first two Annihilator CDs using that cassette system. Working/writing a 3-song demo for labels-only... that was the final demo I made and had the songs 'Imperiled Eyes', 'Wicked Mystic' and 'Word Salad' on it. Note the classical... I had written 'Crystal Ann' on it 2+ years before and it was eventually used to record that song: Track 1 on the Alice In Hell record! Nice 'Nice N' Easy' blue/black dyed hair... when I put hairspray in it, I thought I was a more metaller version of Nikki Sixx. I wasn't!! Haha! The early days!"
Waters recently checked in with another blast from the past:
"Wow. As some might know, Judas Priest brought Annihilator on tour in 1991 as special guest on the Painkiller tour and again in 2004 on the Reunited tour (when Lord Halford came back). A kind fan alerted me to the fact that Judas Priest has done 17 studio CDs and that I am currently writing for Annihilator's 16th studio CD. OUCH! I know there is NO comparison there, as Priest are the Gods of Metal, but it's an interesting and cool thing in the eyes of a once-14 year old kid, while mowing his parents' lawn, listening via a Walkman cassette player, to all Priest records from Screaming For Vengeance and back! And dreaming of being in a band someday and maybe even meeting them! Man, did those wishes/dreams ever get exceeded!"
Check out Annihilator's opening set on the Painkiller tour from 1991 in Belgium. The setlist was as follows:
"W.T.Y.D."
"The Fun Palace"
"Road To Ruin"
"Never, Neverland"
"Stonewall"
"Alison Hell"
