CANCER BATS Release The Making Of Searching For Zero Episode 1; Video

Cancer Bats will release their fifth studio album on March 10th through New Damage Records in Canada. In anticipation of the new album, the band has shared the first episode of their four-part behind the scenes documentary series titled The Making Of Searching for Zero. Filmed by Vince Edwards (Metal Blade Records), the video series explores the recording process of their latest album and what it was like working alongside legendary multi-platinum producer Ross Robinson.
Cancer Bats recently released the video for “True Zero”, the latest single off Searching For Zero. Directed by Jim Agapito, the video can be seen below:
Searching For Zero will be available in the US on March 10th via Metal Blade, who have launched pre-orders for the album digitally and physically, including limited CD and t-shirt bundles. Fans can order now at this location.
The 10-track album, Searching For Zero, is now available for pre-order at iTunes. Fans who pre-order the album will receive an instant grat of the lead single, “Arsenic In The Year Of The Snake”, which premiered recently on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show with Dan Carter. The iTunes version of the album will also include an exclusive track titled “Rust And Bone”. A lyric video for “Arsenic In The Year Of The Snake” can be found below.
Produced by legendary multi-platinum producer Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, Slipknot, The Cure, Sepultura, Glassjaw) Searching For Zero is simultaneously the most melodic, yet menacing Cancer Bats release. The record incorporates the crude hardcore punk of their 2006 debut, Birthing The Giant and more metal leanings of 2008’s Hail Destroyer, while pushing the heavy hybrid sounds of 2010’s Mayors Bears Scraps and Bones and 2012’s darker Dead Set On Living to a new plateau. The choruses are hookier, the screams more savage, the riffs more vicious, the songs more powerful. This is Cancer Bats at their pinnacle – their “True Zero.”

Cancer Bats will be playing a record release show in Toronto on March 12th at The Phoenix Concert Theatre. The band have announced that Barrie hard rockers Indian Handcrafts and label mates Dead Tired (featuring George Pettit of Alexisonfire) and Exalt will be support for the date. Tickets for the release show are currently available through TicketWeb.
Cancer Bats will embark on a US headlining tour with label mates Exalt, followed by a European/UK headlining tour with While She Sleeps in April.
