In other news, Crash Kelly vocalist/guitarist Sean Kelly may very well be the Next American Guitar Hero. Sean considers himself a guitar player first and foremost. That was one of the reasons for including the sassy, booze and bluesy instrumental 'Something Hollywood' on the Crash Kelly debut, Penny Pills.

Mike Molenda, Editor in Chief of Guitar Player Magazine and his staff, thought so much of the track that they selected Sean as one of just 10 Finalists who will compete for GP’s Guitar Hero 2005 Competition.

In this first ever event sponsored by Guitar Player Magazine, Sean will compete against guitarists from the US, Germany and Sweden who perform in a wide range of styles at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland as part of CMJ / Rockfest on June 10th from 6 to 8 pm. Sean will perform 'Something Hollywood' on his trusty BC Rich Mockingbird with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame House Band in front of celebrity judges JOE SATRIANI, STEVE LUKATHER and DJ Munch from Cleveland’s WMMS-FM. The show is sold out but will be webcast live from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on www.Cleveland.com

Sean was thrilled to hear about his selection. “I feel both incredibly lucky and extremely humbled at this opportunity. As previously reported, GILBY CLARKE (GUNS N' ROSES/HEART/MC5) is producing the next Crash Kelly album. A release date has not yet been announced.
