DEEP PURPLE Brings The Songs That Built Rock Tour To Detroit's Fox Theatre

DEEP PURPLE will perform with special guest ERNIE AND THE AUTOMATICS, at Detroit's Fox Theatre on Friday, June 17th at 7:30 p.m. as part of the group's first North American tour in four years. The tour will feature classic members Ian Gillan (lead vocals), Roger Glover (bass) and Ian Paice (drums, percussion) along with Steve Morse (guitar) and Don Airey (keyboards). It will also be the bands first time in North America with a symphony orchestra in each city.

Throughout their career, Deep Purple, who formed in England in 1968 and released their debut album that year, has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. Iconic hits include 'Smoke On The Water', 'Highway Star', 'Space Truckin', 'Hush' and 'My Woman From Tokyo'. The band is planning a new album for 2012; their last studio album was Rapture Of The Deep (2005).
