DEF LEPPARD’s JOE ELLIOTT - “There’s Some Real Classic Leppard Sounding Stuff On The New Album”

During the final episode of Season 14 of VH1 Classic’s That Metal Show, Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott spoke about about a number of topics including the direction of the band's anxiously-anticiptated new album which he says “it’s all over the place. Stylistically wise I can’t really pinpoint because every song is different from every other song. We’ve always aimed at that. We hit it for the first time on Hysteria, where we did an album that allowed us to go into any direction that we wanted to. It wasn’t just purely hard rock or metal. There was pop, there is ballad stuff. There’s some real classic Leppard sounding stuff on the new album, but there’s also some stuff for a band of our stature in their 50s which we should be doing. I don’t want to say grown up because that would sound boring, but a little bit more organic. We’ve allowed our roots to soak into the music a little bit more.”

Check out the chat below, along with more "loose" footage where he discusses everything from his storied career, crazy Ozzy stories and what’s next for Def Leppard.
