hot flashes news ep down

DOWN guitarist Kirk Windstein recently spoke with Matt Wake of The Huntsville Times, an excerpt from their chat follows:

At Saturday's Crossroads Cafe gig, Huntsville fans will get a chance to hear what some metal devotees have waited half a decade for: songs from Down’s next studio record. (The New Orleans-based band’s last was 2007’s Down III: Over The Under.)

Down plans to release a series of four EPs, titled Down IV, during the next few years, and Windstein says the first is already in the can and contains six tracks. He expects the EP to drop late summer.

“We’ll probably play one or two new (songs) at the show actually,” Windstein says. “They’re kind of a throwback to what we were doing at the very beginning, on the NOLA record (Down’s 1995 platinum debut). I think the fans are going to love it.”

Windstein names 'Misfortune Teller' as one of his favorite tunes from the upcoming EP.
