Marseille, France-based metallers ETHS have announced that guitarist Greg has quit the band.
"We wish Greg all the best in his future endeavours," the band comment. "We will never forget the great times we had together and hope for that hiatus to be short-lived. Greg will not be replaced and Eths is now a four-piece band."
Greg's statement reads as follows: "Due to my injury and a couple of personal issues, I decided to put my musical career on a hiatus. I will stay close to the band because we are friends above all, but I had to make that decision even if it breaks my heart. I count on all of you to keep on supporting Eths, especially since the recent induction of Rachel brings the highest hopes for the future. Thank you all for those wonderful memories I'll cherish forever."
Eths recently announced that they have found a new vocalist, Rachel Aspe (pictured below).
Rachel made her international debut on prime time television as part of La France A Un Incroyable Talent (the French equivalent/franchise of America's Got Talent). Her death metal vocal styling stunned the judges and crowd before going viral and being seen by millions of people. Video of her audition can be seen below:
Rachel commented on joining Eths, saying: "I'm really proud to be a part of Eths. I've been a fan of the band for many years, and it's a great honor for me to sing songs I have been listening to for such a long time."
Regarding the new band member, Eths stated: "We're pleased to welcome Rachel to the band. She's great and has an awesome voice! Thanks a lot to Virginie and Nelly for filling in on stage during the last few months. Now a new chapter is beginning for Eths. We're energized and looking forward to our upcoming shows with Rachel. See you on the road!"
