Fusion guitar genius Andy Wood has announced that he’ll be performing with rising country star Billy Dawson this Thursday, November 27th as part a 45-minute set in West Plaza’s Miller Lite Stage at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. The full band performance will kick off Salvation Army’s pre-game show for the Thanksgiving Day battle between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. Other entertainment at the game includes LeeAnn Womack performing the national anthem and Pitbull entertaining during half-time.

 

 

“I'm really looking forward to this, especially with a legendary franchise like the Cowboys,” states Andy Wood.  “Thanksgiving and the NFL go hand in hand at my house. Growing up, my older cousin was a diehard Cowboys fan and I was, and still am, a hardcore Chicago Bears fan. I've always loved the NFL and games on Thanksgiving holidays, so I'm really honored to perform at this event. Billy Dawson is great too and he has a bright future so it's really awesome that he trusted the guitar duties to me.”

Andy Wood is recognized for joining an unusual mixture of piercing electric guitars with barn-burning bluegrass – accomplishing a genre of his own creation. Andy Wood will take his genre-bending extravaganza to the high seas as part of ShipRocked 2015.

The cruise sails from Miami, FL to Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, onboard the Norweigan Pearl, from February 2nd-6th, 2015. For the first time, ShipRocked guests are invited to start their vacation early with the ShipRocked Super Sail Away Pre-Party on February 1, 2015. The Pre-Party will feature Chevelle’s only ShipRocked performance, as well as sets from Sevendust and Wilson.

 For the Super Sail Away, cruise guests will avoid boarding lines by checking into their cabins during the day on February 1. The cost is about the same as a hotel room, food is included, the Super Bowl will be shown on big screens, bands will perform, and guests can check out the bars, get pampered in the spa, and gamble at the casino (while at sea).

 

 

For the Pre-Party, the Norwegian Pearl will set sail in the evening on February 1 and will return to pick up additional ShipRocked guests the next morning. Metal Allegiance - featuring singers Philip Anselmo (Down, ex-Pantera) and Joey Belladonna (Anthrax), guitarists Chris Broderick (Megadeth), Scott Ian (Anthrax), and Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus), bassists Frank Bello (Anthrax) and David Ellefson (Megadeth), and drummers Charlie Benante (Anthrax) and Mike Portnoy (The Winery Dogs, ex-Dream Theater) - will put their spin on a scorching set of heavy metal’s most influential and recognizable songs.
