JOE SATRIANI Collaborates With Bonvillain Design Studio On Guitar Being Auctioned For Charity

Satriani/Bonvillain Charity Axe! Originally a 2001 Ibanez JS-1000 body and a 1998 Hoshino Anniversary Model JS neck with ebony board refinished by Bonvillain Design Studio and the legendary Joe Satriani.

Green and purple inlays with a Bonvillain Design Studio plaque in neon green at the 21st fret. Dimarzio Super Distortion and Liquifire in the bridge and neck positions and new chrome hardware donated by Rich Harris at Ibanez Rules. The guitar has been autographed by both artist David Bonvillain and guitar legend Joe Satriani.

Bonvillain shares "While a little wonky on how we have to pull it off – we wanted the charity to get the full donation amount and also wanted the buyer to get the tax donation credit. So rather than having a auction provider take a buyers fee and fee from the donation – we decided to try and host the auction ourselves and have the winning bidder donate to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco directly. For tax purposes, we are required to set a base value which allows anything over to be tax deductible. We used a value of $1,000 based on an early 2000s Ibanez JS-1000."
