On March 27th, drummer MIKE PORTNOY (ADRENALINE MOB, ex-DREAM THEATER) held another impromptu Twitter Q&A.; Following is an excerpt from his transcript of the session:

Q: Will you be touring Canada with Adrenaline Mob? Montreal, QC specifically?

Portnoy: "Not with AMob, but will be there with NEAL MORSE in May."

Q: When will FLYING COLORS be back in the studio? Can't wait for the second album!

Portnoy: "We've begun some Skype writing sessions."

Q: Any chance of another Prog Nation tour?

Portnoy: "I indeed hope to some day. I did get the trademark in 'the divorce.'"

Portnoy recently launched a Celebrity Cymbal Fundraising Raffle. Enter to win a chance for a cymbal signed by members of BLACK SABBATH, VAN HALEN, IRON MAIDEN, DEEP PURPLE, GUNS N ROSES, ANTHRAX, SLAYER, MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, LAMB OF GOD, ALICE IN CHAINS, DREAM THEATER, QUEENSRYCHE and more.

Portnoy comments:

"Hi Everybody,

This past October, one of my closest friends (I am his daughter's Godfather) had a tragic accident at work and fell down an elevator shaft. This accident has left him permanently paralyzed from the chest down and he will likely now be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

This tragic and unexpected turn of events has permanently changed not only his life, but all of his family and friends around him.

For us all to adapt to such a life changing incident is something that will take time, patience and love.

It breaks my heart to see him and his family suffer and the reality is that it is leaving him in a situation where he can no longer provide for his family financially.

My first instinct was to wonder 'What can I do to help?'

Although nothing I can do will ever get him up and walking again, I wanted to at least do SOMETHING to try and raise some monetary help for him and his family in this horrible time of need and transition. So I decided to gather some signatures on one of my cymbals from some of my friends in the business who all immediately volunteered to help for the cause.

I've decided to make this fundraiser a raffle (rather than an auction) in order to give EVERYBODY a fair, affordable shot at winning this item. An auction would simply go to the richest bidder...a raffle will give anybody willing to donate $10 per raffle a shot (but you can buy as many raffles as you'd like!)

I hope you can all find it in your hearts to donate for this cause and purchase at least one $10 raffle for a shot at winning this incredible piece of Rock n Roll history...but more importantly, help a man and his family in their time of need!

Thank you everybody! And remember, (more appropriately than ever): CARPE DIEM."
