ROBERT PLANT And THE SENSATIONAL SPACE SHIFTERS - Tonight’s Detroit Show Postponed To September 10th

Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters are currently out on the North American leg of their 2015 tour. Dates include his return to Bonnaroo the weekend of June 12th. According to The Detroit News, the band’s concert scheduled for tonight at the Meadow Brook Music Festival is being postponed until September 10 because of illness.

“Sunday morning I woke up with a flu that’s developed into laryngitis,” Plant said in a statement. “I’m really disappointed as I’ve only missed one gig in 15 years and now here’s two in a row. It’s heartbreaking. I’m furious, frustrated and silent.”

The Pixies will no longer be on the bill for the September show. A replacement opening act will be announced. Refunds are available at point of purchase until June 19th if ticketholders cannot make the new date.

The North American leg will finish off on June 17th in Philadelphia, PA, at the Mann Center. See what's been happening on the road in North America so far with this new video by Skin Tyson:

The tour is in support of Robert Plant’s lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar, which was released September 2014 on Nonesuch/Warner Bros. Records.

Plant described lullaby and…The Ceaseless Roar as, “a celebratory record, powerful, gritty, African, Trance meets Zep.” He continues, “The whole impetus of my life as a singer has to be driven by a good brotherhood. I am very lucky to work with The Sensational Space Shifters. They come from exciting areas of contemporary music…”

The Sensational Space Shifters are Justin Adams: bendirs, djembe, guitars, tehardant, background vocals; John Baggott: keyboards, loops, moog bass, piano, tabal, background vocals; Juldeh Camara: kologo, ritti, Fulani vocals; Billy Fuller: bass, drum programming, omnichord, upright bass; Dave Smith: drum set; and Liam “Skin” Tyson: banjo, guitar, background vocals.

Robert Plant And The Sensational Shifters recently wrapped up their March South American tour and uploaded a short movie detailing their experience in South America.
