Houston, TX doom/classic metal band SANCTUS BELLUM has announced that its sophomore album, The Shining Path, will be released on June 12th. The album, which was recorded and mixed by Joe Omelchuck at RBI Recording, is the first to feature second guitarist, Maurice Eggenschwiler.

Speaking on the album, Sanctus Bellum bassist Ben Yaker commented that, “This album represents a significant progression for us. We’ve really developed as songwriters in the two years since we released Return To Dust and I think that the results speak for themselves.”

According to Yaker, the new songs are substantially more intricate than those found on Return To Dust with a greater emphasis on guitar harmonies and classic metal song structures. “We really went for broke with this one,” adds Yaker, “I think people are going to be very pleased with this album.”

The Shining Path is now available for pre-order at this location. All pre-orders will be shipped as soon as the album arrives from the pressing plant.

In addition, the band will be playing material from the new album during their appearance at Milwaukee’s Days Of The Doomed II Festival on June 15th. A Houston CD release show will follow on July 21st at Concert Pub North.
