Although a bit off our musical mandate, members of the hard rock/heavy metal community have paid tribute to Phil Everly who passed away on Friday, January 3rd of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at a Burbank hospital. About the EVERLY BROTHERS, BOB DYLAN once said, "We owe these guys everything. They started it all." Along with his brother Don Everly, the pair's hits included 'Bye Bye Love', 'Wake Up Little Susie' and 'All I Have To Do Is Dream'. They were inducted into the Rock `n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.

SCORPIONS' Klaus Meine: "Always loved The Everly Brothers. RIP Phil Everly. Your music lives forever in my heart."

MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine: "It is with great sadness that I just learned music legend Phil Everly has passed away. Since joining his Cleartone String Company, one of the things I looked forward to most was meeting him. My sympathies to the family."

JACK RUSSELL (ex-GREAT WHITE): "Another sad day in music! Rest in peace Mr. Phil Everly of The Everly Brothers. Our condolences to his family, friends and fans."
