THE GENTLE STORM - More Full Band Tour Dates Announced; Acoustic Shows Featuring ARJEN LUCASSEN And ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN Confirmed

Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One, Guilt Machine) and Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering, Devin Townsend Project) have joined forces for new band, The Gentle Storm. Anneke has checked in with the following update:

"The Gentle Storm's debut album, The Diary, will be released on March 23rd,  2015! In advance of the full band shows that have been announced yesterday (please note Arjen won't be touring with the band), Arjen and I will play a few acoustic dates in February. This will be a unique opportunity to catch us performing together!"

Arjen adds the following:

"Don’t ask me how she did it... but somehow Anneke managed to convince this total recluse to join her (as a special guest) for some acoustic shows in February! If anyone else had asked I would have turned them down flat, but to share the stage with Anneke is something I simply couldn’t refuse. I’m slightly nervous of course, but strangely excited at the same time. Hope to see you there!"

The acoustic tour dates are as follows:

17 - Budapest, Hungary - Planetarium
19 - Bucharest, Romania - Hard Rock Café

The Gentle Storm recently revealed the cover artwork for their debut album, The Diary.

Arjen had this to say: "I loved the front cover of the last Stream Of Passion album, so I tracked down the cover artist, Alexandra V. Bach. I sent her some samples of the The Gentle Storm music, and explained the album concept. She made a moodboard that captured the feel of the story and the music. We then gave her the go-ahead to design the cover. She did an amazing job that exceeded our expectations: Alexandra's cover art represents The Gentle Storm perfectly!"

Having originally worked together back in 1998 on Ayreon's album Into The Electric Castle, and reconvening again for the seventh Ayreon album 01011001, The Gentle Storm sees the duo collaborate for a full double-album that will see the light of day next year. Anneke will take the music on the road in 2015 backed by a band of Dutch musicians; however Arjen himself will not take part.
