THE GHOST INSIDE Drummer Confirms Rumours Of Losing Leg In November 2015 Tour Bus Accident - "I Don't Care What Anyone Says, I Will Play Drums Again"

Back on November 19th, 2015 metal band The Ghost Inside's tour bus was involved in a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler in El Paso, TX. The accident left two people dead and 10 people injured. At the time of the accident the band issued the following statement:

“Thanks to everyone who reached out with concern today. The Ghost Inside was involved in a serious bus accident outside El Paso, TX this morning. All five band members + all members of the crew are alive and currently being treated for their injuries. Please keep them in your thoughts as well as their bus driver and those in the other vehicle who did not make it."

The Ghost Inside drummer Andrew Tkaczyk recently posted an update on Instagram, revealing some shocking news;

"So, the rumors are true everyone. Unfortunately, I did lose my leg in this accident. This is one injury among many others such as fractures in my ribs, spine, and hip along with some ligament tears in my rotator cuff and labrum. I have remained in positive and good spirits since I woke up from a 10 day coma in November to the sight of my missing leg. Not going to let it stop me. I don't care what anyone says. It's a long road ahead, but I WILL play drums again. Can't wait to get back on the kit. Couldn't have dealt with this without the love and support from my brothers in TGI & crew, friends, fans and family. Thank you all."

The crash happened around 9:16 AM (Thursday, November 19th, 2015) on mile marker 63 along U.S. 62/180 near the Border Patrol checkpoint.

“We have accounted for 12 people. Two have been confirmed deceased and 10 are injured,” said State Trooper Moises Vasquez. “Some were transported to local area hospitals in Hudspeth, and others were transported to El Paso. “

The driver of the tour bus, Gregory Hoke, 31, of Round Rock, Texas and the driver of the semi, Steven Cunningham, 64, of Las Cruces, were killed, officials said.
